SoCal Seniors Get New ‘Joy Calls’ Service Free: An AI Companion That Combats Loneliness and Isolation Over the Phone

Orange County, Calif., Aug. 13, 2025 - Southern California-based ONSCREEN, creator of the award-winning Joy AI Companion for Seniors, today announced that it is providing its soon-to-launch “Joy Calls” service for free to seniors in its home market (Los Angeles, Orange, Riverside, San Bernardino and San Diego counties). The first-of-its-kind AI-powered wellness companion proactively calls seniors to talk, check in, and support their daily well-being. This innovative technology addresses isolation and the emotional wellness of older adults and gives caregivers peace of mind with zero learning curve or technical barriers.

”Joy Calls is a game changer in the fight against older adult isolation. It creates consistent, engaging moments throughout the week, with no apps, no screens, just a friendly voice that truly feels human. I absolutely loved talking to Joy, and I know our aging population will too,” said Rebecca Preve, executive director, Association of Aging in New York, who had a chance to try out the new service.

Designed to check in with seniors regularly over the phone, with a mission to reduce loneliness and isolation, Joy Calls delivers warmth, kindness, and thoughtful conversation in every interaction. Joy speaks with a natural, gentle, caring voice and adapts naturally to each person’s interests and context. Every call is designed to deliver uplifting companionship, mental stimulation, or a friendly reminder about hydration, meals, or medication. Joy remembers names and personal interests, asks questions that show genuine listening, and offers moments of lighthearted fun, with jokes, trivia, or reminiscing, to brighten the day.

“As director of a volunteer organization dedicated to alleviating loneliness and isolation among seniors, I consider Joy Calls to be among the most promising technologies developed for the senior care market. My personal experience utilizing Joy has been remarkably positive. I am particularly impressed by its capacity for natural conversation across diverse topics, to the extent that it simulates interaction with a close acquaintance,” said Susan Schrader, Program Director, Community Health Center of the North Country.

“ONSCREEN has been developing AI companions for older adults since 2023, delivered through simple screen-based technology like TV and tablets – but now we have completely removed all technology barriers, making connection and companionship as simple as picking up the phone,” said Costin Tuculescu, CEO of ONSCREEN. “Now, using the familiarity and ubiquity of telephone access, even older adults living in rural or remote areas, without any wifi or internet access can be connected to a daily companion that checks in and supports them, bringing peace of mind to their caregivers.”

Peace of Mind for Family Caregivers, Better Care for Senior Living Communities

The service is not meant to replace the human connection. However, there are many times when family caregivers are not able to connect as often as they would like, and during those gaps, Joy, the AI companion, is always available to step in. Joy Calls alleviates caregiver stress by turning any telephone into a gateway to care. Based on routines set up by family caregivers, Joy Calls proactively reaches out daily, helping maintain healthy routines, reduce isolation, and support independent living. After a Joy Call is completed, family caregivers get updates via text messages about the well‑being of their parents and aging loved ones.

“We would never want to replace the personal, human connection – those moments are golden. However, life gets busy, and we can’t always be there for our loved ones. We created this service for all the time caregivers wish they could call or check-in, but are too busy,” explains Tuculescu.

For professional caregiving organizations and senior living operators, Joy Calls includes a dashboard that shows trends in mood, conversation content, and engagement, helping identify when someone may need a check-in from staff.

A member of LeadingAge California, ONSCREEN is committed to serving the senior living communities of California. At the 2025 LeadingAge California BOLD Annual Conference & Expo in San Diego, Joy Calls was received with enthusiasm by attendees, citing the service’s potential to reduce isolation, improve quality of life, and lighten the load on staff.

“Sometimes something so little can make a big difference. Joy Calls supports independence and sets seniors and their caregivers up for success.” said Mary Winners, MSG, CPG and Los Angeles Commissioner for Older Adults.

Expanding “Joy” AI to Tablets

Building on the success and learnings of its TV-based Moment senior care platform, the ONSCREEN Joy tablet app eliminates the requirement for a new hardware device, and brings ONSCREEN’s most important senior care features of the platform to Android tablets and iPads. This new app enables families to set up a senior care hub using devices they already own, often older generation devices that collect dust once the upgrade cycle comes around. By lowering the barriers to entry and leveraging existing hardware, ONSCREEN Joy enables more seniors and families to benefit from ONSCREEN’s broader caregiving platform.

Key Features of ONSCREEN Joy

The app includes a wide range of capabilities designed to enhance the lives of seniors and their families:

  • “Joy” the Personal Companion: Offers engaging conversations, trivia, jokes, and creative activities like painting, bringing entertainment and stimulation to seniors.
  • AI Wellness Check-Ins: Joy performs wellness check-ins in the form of friendly reminders for essential activities like taking medication, eating meals, drinking water, and engaging in physical activity.
  • Automatic Video Call Answering: Automatically connects seniors with trusted family members in their “Favorites” list, making communication seamless. Callers using both iOS and Android devices can easily connect with their older loved ones, overcoming the limitations of proprietary video calling systems tied to specific mobile operating systems (ie FaceTime).
  • Family Zoom Sessions: Allows seniors to join family Zoom calls without requiring any effort, ensuring they stay connected to larger family gatherings.
  • Simple Text, Photo and Video Messaging: Displays text messages, photos, and videos in an easy-to-read format, making it simple for seniors to engage with shared content.
  • Live Interactive Events: Provides access to live events and activities, enabling seniors to participate in engaging and interactive experiences from the comfort of their home, with no technical assistance required.
  • YouTube Content Sharing: Plays videos shared by family members directly on the tablet, offering a personalized entertainment experience.
  • Photo Gallery & Slideshow: Organizes shared photos into a dedicated gallery, creating a visual archive of cherished memories. Optionally, when the tablet is idle, photos of loved ones will be rotating through, effectively providing a convenient picture frame

Updates to the ONSCREEN Family App

In addition to launching the ONSCREEN Joy senior care app, the company has rebranded its existing app for family members and caregivers as ONSCREEN Family. This app continues to provide an intuitive way for families to stay connected with their older loved ones through features like video calls, photo sharing, and real-time updates.

ONSCREEN Family works seamlessly with the ONSCREEN Joy tablet app, creating a comprehensive solution that meets the needs of both seniors and their support networks. Additionally, ONSCREEN provides a web application for users that prefer to set up Routines on a larger screen, and gives family caregivers the ability to trends and outcomes resulting from Joy’s check-ins with the senior.

“Launching ONSCREEN Joy at CES 2025 is a significant step towards expanding the ONSCREEN ecosystem, and making the powerful capabilities of our platform available to more families that need them,” said Costin Tuculescu, CEO of ONSCREEN, Inc. “Our goal from day one has been to simplify technology so that seniors feel supported and engaged. By offering a tablet-based solution, we’re removing barriers and empowering families to use their existing devices to provide better care.”

ONSCREEN Joy is available now on the App Store and Google Play Store. Families can start with a 30-day free trial, allowing them to explore the app’s features and benefits. After the trial, the service is available for a subscription fee of $9.99 per month, offering an affordable way to enhance connection, companionship and care for older loved ones.

Orange County's ONSCREEN Wins $25,000 Grand Prize at CES 2025

ONSCREEN Won the CTA Foundation Innovation Challenge!

At CES 2025, ONSCREEN took a giant leap in our mission to make life simpler for people of all abilities, winning the Grand Prize in the Consumer Technology Association (CTA) Foundation’s Digital Health Innovation Challenge.

Onscreen CTA Foundation Innovation ChallengeWe couldn’t be prouder of this achievement, which shines a light on the power of accessible technology. While much of our journey has focused on helping seniors stay connected, this win also celebrates our commitment to serving the intellectual and developmental disabilities (IDD) community.

This recognition highlights how technology can transform daily life for individuals with IDD, from facilitating routine tasks to simplifying complex healthcare needs. We’ve always believed that everyone—no matter their age, ability, or background—deserves the opportunity to stay healthy, engaged, and independent. The CTA Foundation’s challenge was our chance to show how we can adapt our TV-based caregiving platform for an even broader audience.

For me, this work is also personal. My 30-year-old brother-in-law is on the autism spectrum and lives with his mom, so I understand firsthand how meaningful a user-friendly and empathetic solution can be. Every feature we design and every improvement we make is driven by real-life experiences, ensuring our platform remains both innovative and accessible.

Breaking New Ground for IDD Care

The Digital Health Innovation Challenge gave us a wonderful opportunity to demonstrate how our existing senior-focused system could be tweaked to serve adults with IDD in a truly impactful way. By combining intuitive design with AI-driven functionality, we set out to tackle challenges like healthcare navigation, managing routines, and even scheduling transportation.

Throughout the competition, the adaptability of our platform became a standout feature. We showed how easily it could be customized with timely reminders, routine checklists, and seamless communication tools. For individuals who need a little extra support, these touches can make all the difference in boosting independence and confidence.

Equally important, we made sure caregivers, including parents and other family members, could also benefit. With real-time insights and notifications, they gain peace of mind knowing their loved ones have everything they need to manage day-to-day tasks. Our goal has always been to create technology that uplifts everyone involved in the care journey.

Joy: An AI Companion for Everyone

A major highlight of our platform is Joy, an AI-powered companion that goes beyond the functions of a typical virtual assistant. When we designed Joy, we wanted to create a friendly presence that’s there to check in and offer support exactly when it’s needed, no matter what a user’s day looks like.

For adults with IDD, Joy can be a real game changer. From offering daily wellness check-ins and reminders, to helping decode complex healthcare terms, it becomes a guide that encourages self-reliance. In many cases, even simple tasks like booking a ride or staying on top of appointments can pose huge hurdles, and Joy helps remove those barriers.

What truly sets Joy apart is the sense of familiarity and empathy it brings. By meeting individuals where they are—whether they’re tech-savvy or just getting started—Joy offers a reassuring, non-judgmental interface. It’s an evolving companion that learns and adapts, making it a reliable sidekick in achieving greater independence.

Why It Matters

Living with IDD can come with unique daily challenges, and finding technology that supports rather than complicates life can be transformative. Tools like Joy and ONSCREEN’s caregiving platform help streamline tasks and reduce stress, giving individuals more time and energy to focus on personal growth and well-being.

During the Innovation Challenge, the CTA Foundation underscored the necessity for inclusive tech that enables people with IDD to live their best lives. We couldn’t agree more. Accessible, intuitive tools don’t just fill a gap—they open doors that allow individuals to participate more fully in their communities and families to feel confident in their loved ones’ care.

In addition, one key insight that emerged is how important it is to generally design easy to use and accessible technology. If companies created more accessible tech from the ground up, everyone would benefit -- who doesn't want their apps to be easier and simpler from the get go?

Looking Ahead

Winning the Digital Health Innovation Challenge is an incredible milestone, but it’s only the beginning of our expanded mission. We’re committed to continuously refining our offerings, incorporating real-world feedback from families and caregivers to make sure our platform remains both cutting-edge and truly helpful to those who need it most.

In the months and years ahead, we plan to explore new ways of enhancing Joy’s capabilities and introducing additional features that make daily routines easier for anyone with special needs. We’re also excited about growing our partnerships, knowing that collaboration with experts, advocates, and healthcare professionals will bring even more value to our platform.

Ultimately, our hope is that individuals with IDD—and their families—have the tools to live with greater autonomy and confidence. As we look toward the future, we’re thankful for the support and recognition from the CTA Foundation, and we’re eager to explore what’s possible next in caregiving technology.

OC's ONSCREEN Reveals Positive Impact of Video Calls on Seniors

ONSCREEN Reveals Data Showing How TV-Based Video Calling Impacts Mental Health of Older Adults

Video calling technology focused on ease of use and accessibility shows improvements in the loneliness and happiness of seniors.

ONSCREENORANGE COUNTY, CA, USA, August 22, 2024 /EINPresswire.com/ -- ONSCREEN, the pioneer of easy-to-use, AI-enabled TV-based video calling and senior care solutions designed to keep aging adults connected and mentally engaged, has just released the results of a user survey that delves deep into the powerful effects of video calling on senior health and happiness.

The blog post titled "The Power of Connection: ONSCREEN’s Impact on Senior Health and Happiness" provides compelling evidence of how ONSCREEN is transforming lives by reducing loneliness, improving happiness, and enhancing overall well-being for older adults.

Three Key Findings:

  • 88% of caregivers report a significant reduction in loneliness among seniors using ONSCREEN’s video calling technology.
  • 86% of caregivers noted a marked enhancement in their loved ones’ well-being, demonstrating the profound impact of staying connected through accessible technology.
  • 76% of caregivers observed an increase in happiness when measuring happiness on a 1-10 point scale.

The blog post delves deeply into these findings, revealing that the impact of ONSCREEN’s technology goes beyond individual experiences. The first survey focused on the caregivers of older adults, capturing how regular video calls facilitated by ONSCREEN have tangibly reduced feelings of loneliness and boosted happiness levels.

In addition to this, the blog explores the outcomes of two other significant surveys. The second survey was conducted with seniors themselves, aged 70 and above, who provided firsthand accounts of their struggles with modern technology. This survey revealed that while many seniors recognize the importance of staying connected with family, a significant portion finds current technology solutions challenging to use, making ONSCREEN’s easy-to-use TV-based platform a game changer.

The third survey gathered insights from adult children of seniors, aged 45-60, who shared their perspectives on the technological challenges their parents face. This survey highlighted a critical gap between the desire to stay connected and the actual ability to do so, with 68% of respondents noting that video calls are not easy for their parents to use. These findings emphasize the urgent need for solutions like ONSCREEN that are specifically designed with seniors in mind.

Together, these surveys paint a comprehensive picture of the importance of maintaining strong family connections through accessible technology. They underscore the critical role that user-friendly platforms like ONSCREEN play in reducing loneliness, improving happiness, and enhancing overall well-being for older adults.

Orange County's ONSCREEN Announces Partnership with Care Daily

TV Becomes the Caregiver: ONSCREEN and Care Daily Partner on AI-Powered Caregiving Solution on the Home’s Biggest Screen

ONSCREEN Partners with Care DailySeamless family-connected care delivered through the familiar comfort of TV, empowering seniors to live well at home. New senior AI caregiver platform can bring peace of mind and improved outcomes.

YORBA LINDA, CA, USA, June 11, 2024 /EINPresswire.com/ -- ONSCREEN, Inc., a leading provider of TV-based senior care technology, and Care Daily, a pioneer in AI-driven healthcare solutions in homes, are excited to announce the launch of new post-acute and longitudinal caregiving capabilities that directly engage seniors and empower their families. The combined power of ONSCREEN with the Care Daily Alliance equips seniors with the tools they need to thrive at home.

The integration of Care Daily and ONSCREEN offers several exciting new capabilities to accelerate the transition of healthcare into homes:

  • Prioritize: Ensure the right support is delivered to seniors when it's needed most, streamlining remote care for clinicians and caregivers.
  • Predict: Automated health assessments conducted by Joy, ONSCREEN's AI companion, help identify potential health issues early.
  • Prevent: Timely alerts and reminders displayed directly on the TV empower seniors to take control of their health by keeping them informed.
  • Participate: A daily prompt engages remote family members to connect with their loved ones through a convenient video chat on the TV, fostering social connection.

Care Daily’s AI platform is now connected with ONSCREEN's senior AI companion, Joy, which conducts regular interactive health assessments through the TV.

Through natural voice conversations, patients can share details about their mental and physical well-being with Joy. This valuable information feeds into Care Daily's Wellness Score, a comprehensive metric that helps healthcare providers prioritize remote clinical and caregiver support. This allows for timely interventions, ensuring proactive care even between scheduled appointments.

For high-frailty and high-acuity patients who may struggle with traditional methods such as phone calls, text messaging, or apps, the TV becomes a natural third modality for communication. Notifications are now pushed directly from Care Daily into TVs via ONSCREEN. Seamlessly integrating with the Care Daily Alliance, a unified network of senior care technologies made interoperable by Care Daily, the total system goes beyond reminders. A missed medication or forgotten Remote Patient Monitoring (RPM) reading triggers immediate alerts displayed directly on the TV, ensuring critical activities are never missed. This promotes better health outcomes for patients and improved reimbursements for providers.

The partnership also enhances the Social Connector service by Care Daily, promoting daily family engagement by prompting a different family member each day to check in with their loved one via ONSCREEN. This ensures continuous and distributed social engagement while fostering more frequent face-to-face interactions, transforming the TV into a convenient video calling device for seniors. Call duration metrics are captured by Care Daily to improve the accuracy of the Social Score and related social trends.

"ONSCREEN's curation into the Care Daily Alliance redefines patient engagement in both post-acute and longitudinal care settings," said David Moss, CEO of Care Daily. "Patients can now recover at home with accessible reminders and multi-generational family engagement. Clinicians are empowered to prioritize care, ensuring the right interventions reach the right patients at the right time. This is the future of care: delivered where we all feel most comfortable – our homes."

"Combining Care Daily’s broad AI capabilities that collect data from devices in the Care Daily Alliance, with ONSCREEN’s TV-based senior care platform creates a powerful tool for enhancing senior care," said Costin Tuculescu, CEO of ONSCREEN, Inc. "These new capabilities not only improve the quality of care but also ensure that seniors remain connected, engaged, and well-supported in their homes."

OC's ONSCREEN Announces AARP AgeTech After Dark Pitch Challenge Win

ONSCREEN Wins AARP AgeTech After Dark Pitch Challenge at CES 2024

TV-Based Telehealth and AI Caregiving Platform Grabs Top Spot at Industry’s Leading Startup Pitch Competition

ONSCREEN Cofounder Costin Tuculescu YORBA LINDA, CA, USA, January 16, 2024 /EINPresswire.com/ -- ONSCREEN Inc., an emerging leader in AI-powered senior care technology, is excited to announce its recent success at the AARP AgeTech After Dark Pitch Challenge at CES 2024. In a fun-filled yet informative event that showcased some of the most innovative companies in the AgeTech industry, ONSCREEN emerged as the winner of the pitch competition, securing the $10,000 award and “bragging rights” for the year.

The CES 2024 AgeTech After Dark Pitch Challenge, hosted by AARP AgeTech Collaborative, brought together some of the brightest minds and cutting-edge companies focused on enhancing the quality of life for older adults, with this event’s specific aim being to showcase solutions that support brain health. The participants delivered 3-minute pitches about their solutions aimed at tackling the unique challenges faced by the senior population. ONSCREEN, known for its commitment to reducing senior isolation and improving accessibility through technology, delivered its pitch for its user-friendly, TV-based platform that facilitates easy video calls, telehealth, and AI-driven caregiving and companionship for seniors.

Sarah Thomas, Venture Partner at AgeTech Capital and one of the three judges at the pitch challenge, highlighted this aspect: "The ability to easily connect with someone via the familiar TV in their home, truly improves accessibility for seniors. As an Occupational Therapist, I like how ONSCREEN’s unique AI companion allows for reminders to be set up to help with daily routines." This endorsement underscores ONSCREEN's impactful solution in providing an intuitive, supportive environment for older adults.

The victory is a significant accomplishment for ONSCREEN, demonstrating not only the ingenuity of its product but also its potential impact on improving the lives of seniors. Costin Tuculescu, CEO of ONSCREEN, expressed his enthusiasm and gratitude, “Winning this challenge is a tremendous honor and a testament to our team's vision of empowering older adults through accessible technology, like the TV. Furthermore, bringing a virtual caregiver to every older adult who needs it can be a big step forward in addressing the growing caregiver shortage.”

ONSCREEN's solution addresses a critical and widespread issue among older adults: loneliness and isolation. This problem, as studies indicate, not only affects about 24% of the senior population but also incurs significant costs to Medicare, on the order of $7B per year. The gravity of this issue is further emphasized by the World Health Organization, which has declared loneliness a global health threat, with effects comparable to smoking 15 cigarettes a day.

What makes ONSCREEN's approach unique is its user-friendly technology, designed for seniors, with no technical experience required.

The system automates everything, allowing seniors to stay effortlessly connected with their family and healthcare providers. Automatic call answering and the AI companion, Joy, provide proactive, consistent support and interaction, removing technical barriers and enriching the lives of older adults. Moreover, Joy acts as a friendly, empathetic companion, available 24/7, offering the kind of support and engagement that can alleviate the caregiver shortage crisis. This AI companion is not just reactive but also proactive, engaging seniors in a way that enhances their daily living. AARP Agetech Group

Additionally, ONSCREEN is forward-thinking in terms of enterprise and data. The product's evolving B2B Enterprise Management tools maintain a constant connection with seniors, providing up-to-date data on their well-being, aiming to improve care outcomes and reduce staff burnout in senior living facilities. The company is also pursuing integrations with leading EHR and EMR providers, to fully automate the workflow of data collection and storage. Furthermore, this leads to a unique and novel approach to RTM (Remote Therapeutic Monitoring) that tracks and monitors the well-being and status of patients on a regular basis.

To further support older adults, ONSCREEN's newly developed 'Tasks and Routines' feature plays a crucial role in delivering independence and well-being. This feature is designed to support healthy routines, such as medication reminders and telehealth appointments, fostering a sense of self-reliance and confidence among seniors. Regular check-ins and health-related reminders contribute to improved health outcomes and offer peace of mind for both seniors and their caregivers.

For caregivers, 'Tasks and Routines' offers immense benefits, including peace of mind, time efficiency, and enhanced communication. It allows caregivers to customize care based on individual needs and provides valuable insights into the senior's daily routine and health status. This feature not only aids in task management but also ensures that caregivers remain informed and involved in the well-being of their loved ones.

ONSCREEN's commitment to using the simplest and most ubiquitous technology, the TV, as a platform for these advanced features underscores the company's dedication to making senior care accessible and effective. Bringing family connection, caregiving, telehealth, and companionship to a home’s largest, simplest, and most familiar screen has the potential to dramatically improve the quality of life for our older adults. AgeTech Startup Delivers TV-Based Senior Care to Reduce Isolation & Loneliness, and Improve Healthcare Outcomes

Onscreen TV based Senior CareYORBA LINDA, CA, USA, January 5, 2024 /EINPresswire.com/ -- ONSCREEN Inc., a pioneer in TV-based senior care technology, is thrilled to announce its participation in the prestigious AARP AgeTech After Dark pitch competition at CES 2024. The event is a part of the AgeTech Collaborative from AARP, a platform for startups, investors, and industry leaders to collaborate and reshape the future of aging. ONSCREEN's presentation will focus on its latest innovations, including easy and automated video calls, simple telehealth integration, family photo and video sharing, and AI companionship powered by generative AI, all integrated into its user-friendly TV-based solution.

Costin Tuculescu, CEO of ONSCREEN, will be presenting the company's latest advancements and plans for growth. "Our presentation at the AARP AgeTech After Dark event is not just about showcasing our product; it's about sharing our vision for a future where accessible technology empowers and enriches the lives of older adults that generally struggle with technology. At ONSCREEN, we're committed to reducing isolation & loneliness, and bringing telehealth to those that need it most, but are also most challenged by it," says Tuculescu.

Studies have shown that video based communication is effective at reducing loneliness and isolation, and ONSCREEN’s own surveys show similar results. Customer surveys show that over 80% of the adult children/family members perceive a reduction in loneliness for their older loved one, and an over 50% improvement in perceived happiness after starting to use ONSCREEN’s TV-based video calling platform to visit virtually and more frequently with family.

As an innovator in the AgeTech industry, ONSCREEN's participation in this event underlines its commitment to advancing senior care through the latest technology, including leveraging the power of LLMs, voice control, speech recognition, natural speech synthesis and AI avatars.

The company aims to set new standards for ease of use and accessibility, by bringing social connections, companionship and healthcare to the simplest technology that most seniors are comfortable with, and interact with on a daily basis – the TV.

ONSCREEN’s journey of innovation started during the pandemic, when it found that customers of it’s TV-based video calling product heavily skewed towards the adult children of 80-plus older adults with mild cognitive impairment, as well as dementia. By focusing on the specific needs of this demographic, the AgeTech startup found that the 80-plus population can significantly benefit from this kind of technology, whether living at home or in a senior living facility.

With the addition of Zoom integration for social events, reminders & notifications, text and multi-media messaging, YouTube video sharing, streaming TV support, and an empathetic AI companion, ONSCREEN’s disruptive technology is ready to significantly improve resident and staff experiences in senior living. In addition, healthcare plans and providers can better support their 80-plus patients through the use of AI-powered check-ins, frictionless telehealth visits, and remote therapeutic monitoring capabilities built into the platform.

OC's ONSCREEN Announces Major Platform Expansion

ONSCREEN Launches API and Enterprise Management Platform

ONSCREENEasy video communication for seniors can now be seamlessly scaled into large organizations, and easily integrated with other senior-care technologies

ORANGE COUNTY, Calif., Aug. 17, 2023 /PRNewswire-PRWeb/ -- ONSCREEN, the innovative developer of TV-based video calling and communication solutions for older adults, today announced a major expansion to its platform that includes the launch of a new API and the introduction of an enterprise-grade device management portal.

The newly released API gives ONSCREEN partners the ability to seamlessly integrate their services with ONSCREEN's innovative TV-based video calling platform. This enhancement is aimed at offering a simple, powerful solution for organizations seeking to incorporate TV-based video calling, automated wellness check-ins, TV-based messaging, automated video content delivery, and more into their suite of services.

"Our newly-launched API opens ONSCREEN's capabilities up to an exciting world of possibilities through yet-to-be-discovered partnerships and use cases," said Costin Tuculescu, CEO of ONSCREEN. "No other company offers the same level of TV-based communication capabilities that can now be leveraged in new and innovative ways, bringing easier communication and more ways to keep older adults connected and thriving in their home or senior living facility. This will further transform video calling for seniors and remove the challenges frequently experienced with other types of technology and devices."

The ONSCREEN API is a RESTful service enabling full user interaction control, from forming admin groups and managing user accounts, to controlling calls and sending personalized messages to the TV. Third-party services can establish administrative groups for structured user management, initiate/end calls for users, and improve interaction by sending tailored messages to each end-user. Detailed API documentation is available at https://developer.onscreeninc.com.

In addition to the API, ONSCREEN is launching Enterprise Manager, an administrative portal for large-scale deployments.

The Enterprise Manager is designed for customers, such as large senior living facilities or in-home care companies, to efficiently manage their ONSCREEN deployments, including all end-user devices across any number of locations. For example, senior living facility managers can install an ONSCREEN device in each resident's room and then set-up, monitor, and control all devices, either individually or as a group, via one centralized dashboard, through the Enterprise Manager. This gives facility managers the ability to send individualized messages to each resident, do video-based check-ins, and utilize technology-based communication that requires no technical proficiency of the resident to participate and leverage the biggest screen in their room – the TV.

Building on the robust features of the current release, ONSCREEN plans to continue delivering high value to its customers and partners. Planned future capabilities include detailed usage and performance insights, real-time device status tracking, and AI capabilities. Also on the horizon is the ability to push video and image content, and other customized features to meet the dynamic needs of partners and end-users alike.
