2018 Fourth Quarter

"In the face of heightened geopolitical concerns, U.S. venture firms are on pace for decade-high fundraising. That capital is magnified by non-traditional investors who remain especially active in mega-rounds at the later stages, pushing investment in startups to more than $80 billion through just the first three quarters of 2018," said Bob Blee, Head of Corporate Finance at Silicon Valley Bank.

Of most interest to Orange County technology ventures and investors?

Mr. Blee continued with this nugget:  "With the San Francisco Bay Area saturated with growth capital, investors are increasingly eyeing startup ecosystems across the country for attractive returns."

Silicon Valley Bank has a strong presence in Orange County, so let's hope that their report correctly forecasts some of the deal flow headed south!
