Celebrating Arnold and Mabel Beckman Foundation's Nobel Prize Winner David Baker
Beckman Foundation Young Investigator David Baker Wins 2024 Nobel Prize in Chemistry
Congratulations to 1995 BYI David Baker, PhD, University of Washington Medicine Institute for Protein Design, and recipient of the 2024 Nobel Prize for his work predicting protein structures.
He shares the prize this year with two Google DeepMind researchers who developed AlphaFold2.
Dr. Baker joins fellow former Beckman Young Investigator Chemistry Nobel Laureates Dr. Jennifer Doudna, 1996 BYI, and Dr. Carolyn Bertozzi, 1998 BYI.
Each Nobel Laureate receives a green gold medal plated with 24 karat gold, a diploma, and a monetary award. As of 2023, the Nobel Prize monetary award is 11,000,000 kr, amounting to approximately US $1,035,000.
