Irvine: The 3rd Best Family City in the USA

Best US cities for families? Irvine is overall 3rd-best in the country according to new research.

This was based on a survey by WalletHub of 180 US cities that compared each of those metro areas on 47 metrics affecting the quality of life for families. 

Those factors included things like the cost of housing, the quality of local school and health-care systems, and the opportunities for fun and recreation. 

Irvine:  Second Safest City in America

Irvine's #3 overall ranking was based in part on it's outstanding #2 national ranking for Health & Safety, plus a #4 ranking in Education & Child Care.  

The downsides to Irvine are those familiar to Orange County residents:  Irvine was ranked #22 for Family Fun (Hello Disney and hello Pacific Ocean!) and only #44 in Affordability.
