Support Military Families: Partner with Chapman's Leatherby Center for Relief Efforts
Help Leatherby Center for Entrepreneurship Support Military Families Displaced by the LA Fires
The recent fires in Los Angeles have displaced thousands of families, including many in the military-connected community.
The Chapman Veterans Club and Recycle For Veterans are stepping up to provide relief, and they need your help to make a meaningful impact.
Here’s What They’re Doing
Supporting the Warrior Heritage Foundation:
- The Warrior Heritage Foundation (WHF), the official nonprofit of the LA Department of Military and Veteran Affairs, is partnering with the Red Cross to convert Bob Hope Hall (Patriotic Hall) into a 250-bed shelter for military-connected families displaced by the fires.
- This effort is deeply personal—members of the WHF are friends and colleagues of theirs through the Student Veterans of America (SVA) network. They’re tirelessly working to serve the community, and this is their opportunity to support real people making a difference.
Organizing Cleanup Efforts:
- Through Recycle For Veterans, they’re preparing a veteran-led cleanup team to assist with environmental restoration once it’s safe to enter the affected areas.
How You Can Help
Financial Donations
Donations to the WHF’s LA Fire Relief Fund will directly support the shelter’s operations, including meals, housing, and essential supplies for families. Every dollar makes an impact. Click the link below to donate:
Amazon Wishlist
The shelter is also requesting specific items such as books, board games, and other entertainment supplies to help families pass the time. Items purchased from the wishlist are being shipped to Ralph Figueroa, an Army veteran and the SVA Student Veteran of the Year, who is personally delivering them to the shelter.
The Leatherby Center for Entrepreneurship and Business Ethics is asking everyone in their network to help spread the word and share this with their teams, colleagues, and partners. Every bit of awareness brings them closer to meeting the needs of these families.
